One of the goals of the Southeast Art Team is to collaborate with organizations who understand the value and benefit of having art and art activities available in our neighborhoods.
@letsliveletsloveart is an awesome example of how that collaboration looks.
Some of the benefits we’ve seen due to creating public art projects in our communities include:

• Demonstrates community service

• Adds color in areas that go unnoticed
• Art attracts tourism
• Tourism boosts the local economy

SDGE listen, our gas bills are high right now …😛 but I truly appreciate your willingness to partner with the local community and organizations for purposes beyond collecting payments.
It means everything. Before the Let’s Love Let’s Love campaign many artists had never had the opportunity to work on a public art project.
Some artists hadn’t experienced monetization. And imagine being paid to do something as wonderful as painting one of the electrical boxes in your own neighborhood!
These opportunities may not seem like a big deal to some but it is huge for an artist to receive the call that they’ve been selected or have an opportunity to work on a public art project. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Not all artists have a strong connection to a non-profit organization who will act as a fiscal agent to accept a grant therefore many artists are shut out for their lifetime to receiving large amounts of funding.
Many artists don’t know that partnership is one of the only tickets to receiving grants, having a non-profit to accept the funds but are all artists going to go apply to become nonprofits?
