Artist Vee Brooks

My name is Yvette Brooks and art is my first true love. It is my passion. I recognize art within and without, it is Me, it is Us. I believe we are all born artists some of us decide to keep  nurturing it and some of us grow away from it.

I’m a Navy Baby, born in the Philippines and raised in San Diego, California. Most of my fondest memories involve Art starting with my dad. Early in life, I knew that Art was what I wanted to do. 

All through high school I took Advanced Art at Mount Miguel High School and then after giving college a try I decided to go another route. I began to do Art less and less and left San Diego, California. I chose to be a full time volunteer for an organization that afforded me to live all over the U.S. in the field of community building for a decade and a half.

In 2014/15 I made a promise to myself to never let nothing or no one stand in-between my true love – Art, again. I returned to San Diego, California in 2017 and have been keeping my promise.

I now make it a point to create Art AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE while recently being titled the president of Southeast Art Team and my own artistic opportunities and motivation. I have been able to keep my word to myself. I participated in Let’s Live Let’s Love SDG&E Utilities Box Project, Canna Craft Paint Nights, Youth Paint Parties (Private & Public), Art & Wellness events, plus managing Southeast Art Team’s art studio and gallery known as Oya Art Gallery and Boutique. I also run a monthly Art and Wellness event offering a healing outlet through different extensions of artistic expression.

I am currently working on 4 projects that I am grateful and excited about.

I am the owner of Enlightened Opportunities LLC. This is the company over my entire art and wellness business. Enlightened Opportunities is a launchpad that represents transition, change and empowerment. With the events and business ventures we are getting closer to being able to create the opportunities that enlighten and propel any individual into their next phase to manifest their goals and creative freedom. Art and Wellness IS the Therapy EVERYONE needs. Online you can find me as Vee, Goddess of Art Peace. The word “Peace” in Goddess of Art Peace represents the freedom and tranquility in creating an art “piece”. It’s a play on words – Peace and Piece, phonetically they are the same. It is also referring to the product being a wearable piece of art.

I enjoy the fact that Art is a 2 way street. When creating Art something happens within me as an Artist. I am literally manifesting a feeling or picture in my mind onto paper (canvas) The person viewing the art is then being inspired to feel something or remember something – simply put, the onlooker is moved.
