Art is Life
Thank you San Diego Magazine!

Thank you San Diego Magazine!

It’s so wonderful to see the beautiful Billie Holiday mural featured in the Best of San Diego August 2022 edition! ❤️

Three cheers to our sweet Oya Art Gallery & Boutique, an upcoming Art House in San Diego, located at 6 Hensley Street on the second floor of the historic Clementine McDuff Elks Lodge #598.

For nearly one year, the gallery has served as a hub for local artists to perform and expand potential. Our one year anniversary will be coming up in September. Woohoo! ❤️

The photo in San Diego magazine is so fitting and is perfect timing as Vee Brooks is being promoted to President, Southeast Art Team.❤️ Congratulations Vee!!😍

Vee has done amazing work with maintaining day-to-day life within the gallery, she’s been great with offering opportunities, scheduling and organizing new exhibits.

The vision that we had for Pop-Up Art Gallery at Market Creek Plaza has come to life at Oya Art Gallery & Boutique thanks to the collaborative efforts of so many local artists.❤️

Artists and entrepreneurs have a platform to show their work and gain experience interacting with the public and one another in the gallery.

Due to the pandemic, we didn’t have the opportunity to have live bands, spoken word and paint parties at the Pop Up Art Gallery such as we do every 3rd Sunday of each month in our gallery at the Summer Bazaar.

As far as the art team, it’s been a wonderful 6 years since Ashley Hawkins and I had the conversation with Dawud Hasan and Terrell Rackley about forming an art team to represent District 4 San Diego.

Since then we’ve had many events, we’ve volunteered and collaborated with the SD Hip Hop 5K and other community partners on projects such as Project New Village, I AM Green and the Let’s Live Let’s Love campaign with our Council President Pro tem Monica Montgomery Steppe. Now we have our gallery and the tour!

So much to look forward to while also looking back at amazing memories.

Gallery doors are always open for creatives looking to showcase art, film videos, network and create events.

🎈Gallery Hours: Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sun -3p – 9p

🎈Paint Parties/DIY Crafts every Sunday at 5p

🎈Summer Bazaar every 3rd Sunday at 3p

🎈Art Classes w/ Raquel Rhone coming soon!

For more information about scheduling at the gallery, upcoming events, paint parties and everything gallery related contact Vee.

I can still be reached for collaboration opportunities but my main focus will be the Black Arts and Culture Tour.❤️

Happy Sunday! ❤️#gratitude
